Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate is a new direction for the looter shooter game, in more ways than one.
The 2025 expansion for Bungie’s FPS brings the fight to a new location called Kepler with a new NPC named Lodi, and it seems to deal with weird space-and-time travel and The Nine. But that’s not all that’s different.
Upon booting up the DLC for the first time, players quickly noticed that Warlock Vanguard and Destiny 2 mainstay Ikora Rey sounds a lot different this time around, sparking speculation about whether or not the actress behind the character was recast.
Here’s everything we know so far about Ikora’s voice actress in Destiny 2.
Does Ikora Rey have a new voice actor in Edge of Fate?

Yes, Ikora Rey's Voice Actor Is No Longer Mara Junot in The Edge of Fate. Junot has played Ikora Rey in Destiny 2 since 2021, when she took over for the character’s original actress, Gina Torres. It appears that a casting change has happened once again.
Who is Ikora’s new voice actor in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate?
While unconfirmed, it sounds a lot like Ikora’s new actress is Debra Wilson. Wilson is well known for her performances on MadTV but also in video games, including as Prava in Devil IVAmanda Waller in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueand Doctor in Death Stranding 2but most players will recognize her voice as the same actress for Savathûn in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.
It’s unclear why the casting change was made, but it may have something to do with the SAG-AFTRA strike. Mara Junot recently posted on her Twitter/X account celebrating that the strike had come to an end, but Ikora’s voicelines were likely recorded months ago, so it appears that Wilson took up the mantle in the meantime.
