Apple TV will broadcast Major League Soccer matches for free starting in 2026

It’s official – starting with the 2026 season, all Major League Soccer (MLS) matches will be available to stream on Apple TV at no extra cost. Currently, users have to buy a Season Pass to the tune of $15 a month if they want to watch. And they didn’t even get a discount for being Apple TV subscribers (a subscription currently costs $13 a month).

So, if you have Apple TV (the streaming service, not the box), you will be able to watch every regular-season match, the annual Leagues Cup tournament, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs and more. The current MLS Season Pass subscription will end at the end of the 2025 season.

Previously, Apple made 2025 MLS Cup playoffs free to watch for all Apple TV subscribers, which was something of a dry run for this announcement. It’s not just the matches either, Apple TV will offer studio programming and related on-demand streaming content.

Besides soccer, Friday Night Baseball is available to watch for free and, as of recently, Apple has the exclusive broadcast rights in the US for Formula 1 races – all of that will be available at no extra cost. Which is probably why the MLS Season Pass system had to go.

But this is also why the current $13 a month subscription price may not last long.

By the way, the news for this broke on ESPNwhich is owned by Disney, which is currently in a spat with YouTube TV over TV distribution rights. The TV streaming world may soon face some major changes.
