The first word I got today was LURE, so at this stage I still thought that the words we were looking for were connected by fishing.
Once I got PLOY it slowly dawned on me that “Don’t take the bait” was about something else entirely – I guess I really did take the bait and fell for Strands’ DECEPTION.
My favorite word in today’s search is STRATAGEM, which is used to describe a plan or plot but especially one devised to outwit an opponent. Sounds like something every international super villain needs before they can get a bank loan.

What is NYT Strands?
Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new-any-more word game, following Wordle and Connections. It’s now a fully fledged member of the NYT’s games stable that has been running for a year and which can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
